To provide food handlers with the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice, that meet the 2nd tier of training, as stated in the Caterers Guide to Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995.
The aim of this training course is to provide candidates with a vital knowledge of food hygiene; providing them with the essential skills and knowledge to prevent food poisoning.
All food handlers and staff who have not been formally trained in food hygiene.
The 2 hour course includes lectures enhanced by audio/visual material and practical teaching aids.
Delegates are encouraged to actively participate in discussions and group activities.
The next qualification after this Food Safety Awareness Course is the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
